Technique
Histogram Stretch
Expanding tonal range to reveal faint detail
Definition
Histogram stretching remaps pixel values to use the full brightness range. Raw planetary stacks often have limited contrast - stretching reveals subtle cloud bands, ring detail, or surface features. In Uranum, adaptive stretching uses NMAD (Normalized Median Absolute Deviation) to determine optimal stretch automatically.
