Frame Rate (FPS)
Number of frames captured per second
Definition
Higher frame rates capture more frames during moments of good seeing, increasing the chances of getting sharp images. Planetary imaging typically uses 60-200 fps depending on brightness and ROI size. Jupiter benefits from 100+ fps, while dimmer Saturn might use 60fps. Frame rate is balanced against exposure time and noise.
